FAQ
Questions, answered honestly
Everything below reflects what Speaknoria actually is today — and where something is still being built, we say so plainly.
Yes. There is one plan — Speaknoria Free — and it costs nothing. No paid plans, no hidden charges, no card required. The product is built to stay free: everything interactive runs on free capabilities already in your browser, so there is nothing expensive to pass on to you.
Yes. The course starts at level A1, made for complete beginners: greetings, numbers, simple sentences, and the present tense. Each of the six levels (A1 to C2) builds on the one before it, so you are never dropped into material you are not ready for.
Urdu is a first-class language in Speaknoria, not an afterthought. The app is designed to work in English and Urdu with a full right-to-left layout from day one, and grammar points and vocabulary will include Urdu explanations as the curriculum rolls out phase by phase.
Yes. Speaking practice uses your browser's built-in speech recognition: you read a sentence aloud and the browser tells you what it heard, right on the page. This is live in the demo pages today. Fuller guided speaking practice with structured drills is marked 'Coming soon' on the pricing page — we mark it honestly there.
No. Speaknoria runs in your web browser — nothing to download and no app store needed. An installable version (a PWA that adds an icon to your phone's home screen, with offline lessons) is planned closer to launch, but it will never be required.
Yes. Speaknoria is designed mobile-first, starting from phones as small as 320px wide — the kind of low-cost phones many learners use. Buttons are thumb-sized (at least 44px), pages never scroll sideways, and the reading view is built for small screens.
It uses your browser's own built-in speech tools, and support differs between browsers. It works best in Chrome and Edge on Android and desktop. Safari and some in-app browsers have limited or no support — if the speaking demo cannot start, the page tells you honestly, and you can still practice by reading aloud.
Yes — and together with reading, listening, and speaking, not as separate dry tracks. You meet a grammar point inside a story or a dialogue, see it used, hear it, say it, and then practice it. The curriculum page shows exactly which grammar and vocabulary each level covers.
Yes. Stories are a core part of Speaknoria: graded short stories written for each level, dialogues from everyday life, and later public-domain classics — which are introduced only after licensing checks confirm they are genuinely free to use. Nothing copyrighted is ever used without permission.
Progress tracking is marked 'Coming soon' on the pricing page, and we say it plainly. Accounts, the placement test, and the daily learning engine arrive in later phases; once they do, you will get daily goals, streaks, and per-level progress. The demos on this site do not save anything yet.
Not yet — you need an internet connection for now. Offline lessons are planned as part of the installable app version closer to launch, because many learners study where connections are slow or expensive.
No. Speaknoria runs on a strict $0 AI budget: everything interactive — listening, reading aloud, speech feedback — uses free capabilities already built into your browser. There is no paid AI service running in the background, which is one reason the product can stay free.
